UV Printing vs. Traditional Printing

· Material Compatibility: UV printing is nearly universal (glass, metal, wood, plastic, leather, etc.), requiring no pre-treatment or coating. Screen printing is limited to flat surfaces, pad printing to small irregular parts, and heat transfer requires heat-resistant materials and can damage heat-sensitive substrates.

· Plate-making & Process: UV printing requires no plates, completing the job directly from a computer. Traditional methods all require creating screens/plates/transfer paper, involving multiple steps and different machines.

· Batch Size & Cost: UV printing has no minimum order quantity (MOQ), starting from 1 piece with easy design changes. Traditional methods have high plate-making costs, making them cost-effective only for very large production runs.

· Image Quality & Precision: UV printing achieves photo-realistic quality with smooth gradients and millions of colors, up to 1440 DPI. Screen printing has thick ink layers but poor detail with jagged edges; pad printing suits simple patterns with complex color control; heat transfer is prone to color shifts and misalignment.

· Customization & Flexibility: UV printing supports 'what you see is what you get,' allowing every print to be different, ideal for small-batch customization. Traditional methods use fixed patterns per batch; changing designs requires new plates, lacking flexibility.

· Eco-friendliness & Safety: UV printing uses LED cold-curing, emitting no VOCs, with low energy consumption and no high heat/pressure. Screen printing inks contain volatile solvents; heat transfer involves high heat/pressure and consumable transfer paper.

· Special Effects: UV printing can directly produce raised textures, 3D effects, matte, gloss, and other tactile finishes. Traditional methods struggle to achieve these and often require additional steps.

· Personnel & Space Requirements: UV printing is simple to operate, often requiring just one person and minimal space. Traditional methods rely on skilled technicians and need larger areas for multiple machines and drying space.
